The Casting Dock

some randoms for a friday morning.

1. In the very near future I will be making two big purchases.
One will really amp up the visuals on the blogfront and the other will amp up my quality weekend time with the hubs (and maybe my bod too. double bonus.).
When you live in such a scenic place, you really need to capitalize.

2. I have been antsy, very ansty, to get my hands dirty with some kind of craftiness lately.
I think it’s something with the warmer weather rolling in that makes me want to create.
I have a little something up my sleeve. A gift for a good friend. I’m going to get supplies today.
I’ll give you guys a sneak peak when I finish.

What I really want to do is work on some furniture projects. Remember this guy?

Yeah, so I never did get around to painting another one within my original 30 day window. Obviously. BUT, this summer, when I have space and time on my side, I’ll be getting after it. And I’m giddy about it. So be prepared for some transformations!

3. I have a love affair with any and everything nautical.
Really just anything navy and white. And I always have. I just can’t get enough.

4. Jerry took the afternoon off of work yesterday and is doing the same today. Why? Oh, because it’s opening weekend for March Madness, Thursday and Friday of which are his two favorite sports days of the year. That should tell you a little something about where the priorities lie in this household. Not so much? How ’bout this: he runs a March Madness pool with the self-appointed title, The Bracket Master, and hand marks the brackets with the Red Pen of Justice. Love him.

5. It’s 10am. I haven’t made the bed, brushed my teeth, or changed out of my pjs.
I’m going to die when I have a child.

The End. Happy Friday!

PS. Kidding about the tandem bike. We’re actually getting two bikes. I wanna ride together, but not that together.

Omg I have always wanted a two seater bike! Ha! Maybe this summer I will rent one to try it out!
Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! I look forward to your posts!

Does he get to use the Red Pen of Justice because he is The Bracket Master? Or does having access to The Red Pen of Justice move him to the front of the line of wannabe Bracket Masters?

Seems like Jer didn’t listen to my West Coast advice. You could have saved your red pen a bit if you’d just picked UCLA over MSU. Too bad Jerry! :(

While cleaning out the garage Bryan and I came across a maple drop leaf coffee table that could use some TLC….a nice Texas project for you to work on?? I just told Bryan that I bet you could bring it the poor, pathetic coffee table back to life.
Nautical aka Cruise-wear? Maybe a navy stripped coat for the cold evening deck walks with Jerry!

I usually haven’t made the bed, brushed my teeth or gotten out of my pj’s by 10am and that is BECAUSE I have kids! Enjoy lounging around now, because once you have kids you just don’t have time for all that stuff! :) And I totally laughed at the last line of this blog – I thought you were serious about that tandem bike! Oh…and my husband is addicted to March Madness as well…we’re sitting here together watching it right now!

Great to have you Hannah! :)

Craig–I’m going with the former, but maybe I’ve just been brainwashed by so many years together…

Kathleen–NEITHER of us listened to the West Coast advice…but it stung him worse than it stung me. :)

Mom–I’ll work on it for you…I charge commission, of course…

Lindsey–I sometimes feel like I can barely take care of myself…the idea of another person relying on me is daunting (!) but I sure will enjoy my leisurely mornings while they still last! :)

Found your blog a bit ago from someone else from college and LOVE it! And that JCrew sweater makes me need to go boating. Like now!
