selfless love meets celebration

Focus of this season of life: selfless love. Obviously for that man who is my lovah, but really just for people in general. Consistently wishing and rooting for other people to reach their full potential, their ultimate good, regardless of the implications for me or my life. Now that’s an honorable goal. I mean, truly wishing the absolute best for others without a thought as to how it might be inconvenient for me, might require sacrifice, or might evoke a twinge of jealousy or sense of inferiority if they actually succeed. Selfless in the fullest sense. Always inspired by that Clive Staples…

Also, along this glorious theme of love, we over here in the Logan household are celebrating the engagement of one of our very best friends, Keith, to his fabulous new fiance, Sarah (they would be the two smiling faces seen above…). Keith is one of those friends who feels like family. Not your million-dynamics-going-on-at-once, everyone’s-stuck-in-a-rigid-role family, but all the best parts of family, the way it was intended to function. The supportiveness; the sense of belonging; the encouragement; the accountability; the laughter; the honesty, even when it’s raw honesty (because it’s coming from a place of genuineness and concern); and my favorite–the feeling of being truly known and yet still loved. He’s that kind of family. And what a joy it is to celebrate with family.

Congratulations Keith and Sarah!
You’ve each found your match. And I can’t wait to celebrate with you in the warm, sunny August weather.
Warm and sunny….Mmmmm….

May I just add that Keith proposed on a mountaintop at the base of a giant tower after hiking through feet of snow and ice. That’s good work, folks.

Congratulations Keith y Sarah!
