The Casting Dock

art of the hour

This past weekend Jerry, our friend Liz, and I went to the MFA to check out this highly, highly acclaimed glass exhibit by this art-god Chihuly. You know it’s highly, highly acclaimed when word has trickled down to you and your husband (not the most artistically inclined and inspired people) from multiple different sources and you trek down to the MFA on a GORGEOUS Saturday morning only to find a line wrapping down the steps and around the building just to get in.

A line waiting to spend the afternoon indoors on a quintessentially picturesque New England summer day? Yeah, this guy must be good. Luckily for us we had “member passes” (thanks to the library, not our own “culturing”) so we walked right on in. And yeah, it was legit impressive. (it’s hard to tell from the pictures, but these are all life-size. Some of them even extend throughout an entire room or hang from the ceiling).
